UNATTENDED WORK CELLS FOR HIGH QUALITY
SHAFT PRODUCTION
Our Swiss Turn CNC lathes with barfeed, automatic gaging and robotic
part handling, can take a shaft from raw bar stock to finished piece
without human intervention. These CNC machines help maintain our high
quality standards and cost efficiency. The unattended work cell receives
material from a bundle loader. Once the new program for each tool
is verified, the first part is produced and receives a 100% inspection.
The robot then unloads the accurately machined part to a "data
gage" for multiple measurements. The data gage comunicates with
the machine tool, making minor corrections and can maintain a .0001
deviation tolerance. "Out-of-tolerance"
parts are automatically
placed in a separate container. |

TOOLING
Live tooling lathes allow us to machine a part, without
a loss of accuracy from a second fixture, with less handling.

ROBOTIC
INSPECTION
Designed and built by C&R, this measuring station is robotically
loaded and measures multiple diameters to 10 millionths
accuracy. Communication with the machine tool allows tool
offset changes to insure conformibility.

STEADY
REST
Our CNC lathe with an additional steady
rest can produce TIR's within .0001 and combined with live tooling
produces an accuate and economical part. We can handle shafts from
1" to 12" in diameter and up to 60" long.
